Andrew Martin Design Feature

I have been designing and decorating interior spaces for the past 30 years. It was a honour when asked to submit my recently completed work at Mpala Jena Zambezi for the 2022 Andrew Martin Awards. To my utter surprise and sheer delight my work at Mpala Jena has made it into this years volume 26.

This is certainly an honour and a highlight in my career. Thank you Andrew Martin for this incredible opportunity.

“Specialising in luxury safari lodges, primarily in Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The portfolio also extends to boutique hotels, and corporate & residential developments. Current projects include Mpala Jena, a haven that epitomises ‘Barefoot Luxury’, on the sandy edges of Zimbabwe’s Zambezi River, and Little Sable, an intimate, tented retreat located amid the grasslands of the Khwai Private Reserve, in the greater Okavango Delta. Recent work includes Amber Glades in The Karkloof, South Africa, a boutique residential, senior living development, and Tuludi, seven, tree-house style rooms enfolded in nature…

Design philosophy: using flora and fauna to create beautiful interiors that sit naturally in their location. English classics with nuances of Africa.”
